Tue night we had to camp out along the side of the road in a small area shielded from the road by a hill; we prefer to be unnoticed by dangerous type people when out in the middle of nowhere. We had a very peaceful night and we were just a few miles from the Petrified Forest when we awoke so we were able to be the first to enter the south entrance that morning. It was a very beautiful place considering it was the desert. The Blue Mesa was the best, see pics with the rest of the Painted Desert following close behind. After leaving the park we finally located a Wal-Mart.. Hurrayyyy! We have now stocked up on essentials and are now en route to the Grand Canyon. We plan to arrive this evening and
sleep there tonight, get up tomorrow morning and hike the 10 Miles to the Havasupai
Indian Reservation Village of Supai, where there is a town and an very beautiful waterfall. I am positive I will not have any phone service or any chance at internet service so until we are back in service area..........take care.
